If this is your first time reading my Tuesday Tao post, check out the original post here to understand more about this new weekly theme.
Fill your bowl to the brim
and it will spill.
Keep sharpening your knife
and it will blunt.
Chase after money and security
and your heart will never unclench.
Care about people’s approval
and you will be their prisoner.
Do your work, then step back.
The only path to serenity.
I can relate to this because to me it is all about balance. Life is a constant balancing act. As a woman I am trying to balance being a mom and wife without losing my sense of self identity. As a mom you want to protect without being overprotective, teach without taking away from the lesson of the experience, help without hindering. As a wife it is about being supportive but not losing sight of my own dream, compromise on behalf of both of us, and communicating but knowing that listening is apart of that.
It also speaks to me about mindfulness. About knowing what to do and getting it done, but then letting it go. Not thinking about it for the rest of the day and letting it sit in the back of your mind. Being in the moment.
What does this Tao mean to you? Can you relate? Is this something that you needed to read today? What are your thoughts on it?
