Mid-Week Kindness Challenge Checkup!

Attention all Kindness Challenge participants!

I just want to check in and see how this week is going. The challenge is currently in week 2. For all of those in week 2, have you been able to see the kindness around you? Do you look for it every chance you get? Are you more observant of those around you? Are you more mindful of what you watch? I don’t want you to give too much away because we look forward to reading each other’s reflections, but feel free to share a little something in the comments. Encourage one another, we are on this journey together!

For those in week 1, are you remembering to be more mindful of yourself? Is it coming easier than you anticipated? Harder? Either way, be gentle with yourself! Those who are givers by nature discovered last week that this was a little more challenging for them. So if you are struggling it’s ok, if comes easier with practice! Feel free to read the stories of those that posted about last week if you need some encouragement. Remember, there’s a difference between self-care and selfish! One of the quotes that comes to mind for week 1 is “Choosing me doesn’t mean me first, it means me too“.

Below are the links for the weekly challenge posts. At the end of the week, please link your reflection to the corresponding post. This way all of our stories will be shared in the same place and we can celebrate each other’s journey! I encourage you to try to post your reflection before Monday so you can decide if you should move forward to the next week, repeat the current week or incorporate some of the lessons from this week in next week’s focus. It’s your journey, I’m just handing out the map, it’s up to you which path feels right!

Should you need help linking (also called a pingback) I have created a tutorial to help. If you still have questions go ahead and ask in the pingback tutorial comments section or via email.

Don’t forget, it’s never too late to sign up and you don’t have to be a blogger to participate! Get your friends and family involved, and embark on this journey together!

  1. Hmmm I’m having a harder time observing kindness. I can’t decide if it’s because of where I live or how people seems to always be in such a rush or if they just don’t notice what’s around them. I’ll keep trying though.

    1. Look for subtle kindness. It can come as generosity, patience, courtesy. Someone being mindful of someone else, someone listening to listen and not to respond. If it’s hard, see if you can observe children in stores or places you frequent, they are prime examples. If that’s difficult, animals are good examples too as Lindsay from homehugshuskies.wordpress.com pointed out. If the real world is proving difficult, try looking into an alternative news site or get some ideas from randomactsofkindness.org. I hope this helps! Can’t wait to see how things go for the rest of the week! 🙂
