The oddest thing just happened. I received a Facebook message from a lady reaching out for help for Christmas. A friend pointed her in the direction of someone that shares my name. After sending a few messages back and forth I really think it was an honest mistake. She asked for some warm winter clothes for her 15-year-old son. I couldn’t help but think how amazing it would be to help her more than she ever expected. With so many unfortunate events we hear about in the news and all of the ugliness going on post-election, how would you like to be apart of something amazing?
I’m calling on everyone in this blogging community to consider donating what you can to shower this family in kindness. I’d love for this to be a Christmas for them to remember, one that they felt so loved and supported by a community they didn’t even know existed! I’ve created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to purchase things like:
- warm winter coat
- warm socks
I asked for her shipping address to help with what I could. She has no idea that I’m a blogger or that I’m reaching out to my community to help surprise her. She apologized for the mistake and after sending messages back and forth provided me with her address so I could send the items I was able to help with. I just thought it would be such an incredible surprise to receive an unexpected package full of things purchased with funds from people all around the world who came together to show her family some love this Christmas.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, please contribute to the GoFundMe campaign I just created. My goal is $250 to start off with to get him a nice warm coat, socks, and gloves to bundle him up. If you’re with me on this, click the photo below to be redirected and donate to the campaign directly. Please reblog or share with your friends and family.
