Week 7 Theme| Grateful for Kindness

This week’s challenge is to be grateful for kindness. Whether it’s kindness you witness, experience, or give. Kindness comes in many forms. You might notice kind reactions in the form of patience or someone being helpful. You might notice kind words or deeds. I’m curious to know if you’ll notice things you might not if you weren’t looking to be grateful for all of the kindness around you.

Being grateful for the kindness you experience awakens your consicousness to the everyday kindness you’d otherwise overlook.

While this video isn’t about being grateful for kindness specifically, it is about expressing gratitude and how it impacts us. What an excellent reminder to not only be grateful but to show our gratitude!

 

Grateful for Kindness Exercise-

As you begin your challenge for the week, write down the number of kind things you normally notice. Each day keep a tally of the kindness you notice. Do you notice more kindness when you’re looking for it? Find a way to express your gratitude for the kindness you witness and experience. It might be by saying thank you or maybe by keeping the ripple of kindness going.

Another thing you could do this week is to think of all of the kindness you experienced right before you go to bed. Replay the kindness in your mind and let those be the thoughts on your mind as you go to sleep. You could even say a prayer or send good vibes to the people you witnessed being so kind.

Reflection Prompt | You pick the day to post!

At the end of this week, post your reflection. How did it feel to look for kindness to be grateful for?  How was your experience? What did you struggle with? What surprised you? What did you learn about yourself? Which exercise did you do? Did you find it difficult to do at the beginning of the week? Did it get easier as the week went on? How did people respond? Feel free to share as much as you’re comfortable with. You’d be surprised by how many of your readers will be able to relate to how you feel and who you might encourage.
