I know there’s no shortage of expert advice out there for bloggers. One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to come up with a posting schedule. You want it to be something that works for you and something that you can deliver consistently. If you have one day to write, I suggest scheduling the posts for the week if it makes it easier than writing every day. Not only do you want to have fresh content on your blog regularly, but you want it to be quality content. Continue reading “Community Question | Posting Schedule”

I know the illusion of perfection is appealing. The thing is, perfection has a way of holding us back. It can make us feel like we can’t move forward until we’re “ready”. If we wait on being perfect, we’ll miss out on a lot of opportunities. Continue reading “Progress Over Perfection”

When you think of yoga what comes to mind? Probably really flexible people doing all sorts of handstands and other balancing poses. I know that’s what I thought when I first started thinking about yoga. “Well, I’ll get there. That’s what it’s all about right?” That’s what I told myself. “It’s all about learning to do awesome poses that I can upload to Instagram and show off to the world.” Continue reading “A New Way to Think About Yoga”

As the seasons change, it’s easy to lose sight of our healthy goals. We choose the couch over the treadmill. Maybe there are a few more pizza deliveries when it becomes much harder to get fresh, local, fruit and vegetables. While that approach is certainly easier, it won’t lead to great health outcomes over time. It’s time to start thinking about healthy habits that last throughout the seasons. In ‘Wage War on your Mind and Fight for your Life’ Niki shares the process that she used to overcome her depression. It’s full of personal stories, hints and tips for self care, ways to lift your spirits and questions to help you get there. Niki is a fantastic and personal author. She is honest about the doubts she faced when writing this book. She is open that she wrestled with writing this book – I am glad that she did! Right at the beginning Niki tells you to put the book down if it’s not the right time for you. I love that she cares about you more than sales of her book!
