I’m so excited to share an interview Jenny @peacefrompanic recently did with me via email. It was so much fun to connect with her. She had some really great questions and I enjoyed answering them. Be sure to leave some love on her blog. If you haven’t met her yet, she’s one of the first bloggers I connected with when I started blogging last year. She’s a kindred spirit that I’m grateful to have met. She blogs about mental health specifically how she helped her daughter manage panic attacks when she was growing up. She continues helping young people by speaking at schools about mental health awareness. Thank you for all that you do Jenny ❤ Continue reading “Interview | Peace From Panic”

I know the illusion of perfection is appealing. The thing is, perfection has a way of holding us back. It can make us feel like we can’t move forward until we’re “ready”. If we wait on being perfect, we’ll miss out on a lot of opportunities. Continue reading “Progress Over Perfection”
It wasn’t until I contemplated what word to use for today’s A-Z Challenge post that I realized how much I appreciate quiet. By that I mean in my mind. For so long I had let the whirlwind of destructive thoughts spin through my mind that as I sit here and write, I realize how grateful I am to have peace of mind. Continue reading “Quiet”
Have you seen the new show on Netflix 13 Reasons Why? It’s a must watch in my opinion. It’s about a teenage girl that leaves tapes behind explaining what led to her committing suicide. I think this is one of those shows that parents should watch with their teens. I’d even go as far to say this would be something I’d like to see watched and discussed in health class. Continue reading “13 Reasons Why”
Today’s post comes from Lauren, a lawyer from Sydney who is currently taking a break from law. Thank you, Lauren, for sharing your story with us ❤
I was sitting at my desk in my little cupboard office on the morning I published my article Why your worst fears are nothing to be afraid of. How did I have the audacity to I speak about conquering fear when it was the catalyst to my emptiness? Fear was eating me from the inside out. I had no right to even suggest that someone should leave the job that paralyzes them when that’s exactly what I couldn’t do.
I’m doing another combination post for the A-Z Challenge. I got a few posts up yesterday and scheduled out some more for this week but wasn’t able to get yesterday’s letter up. While I’m at it, I’m adding tomorrow’s letter in this post too. It works out well because these letters go together like peanut butter and jelly.
As I began to embrace myself for the perfectly imperfect person I was, I stopped focusing on the “what if’s” in life. I found the best way to snuff out anxiety was by letting go of expectations. This isn’t to say that I didn’t have dreams, goals, or aspirations just that I wasn’t fixed on how they came about and didn’t fret over things that may or may not happen. This week’s message to get it off to the right start!
“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are.”

Something I was actually surprised about once I overcame my battle with depression was the feeling of joy. It wasn’t something I was familiar with or new how to identify. It made me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. I didn’t know how to interpret it and thought it was surely the calm before the storm. Surely something awful was about to happen and I was too distracted to see it coming. Continue reading “Cultivating Joy”
