Results Outweigh Discomfort

For the past year, I’ve been intentionally pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. I’ve been taking steps to turn my dreams into reality, building my business in a way that’s not conventional yet fits into my life and vision perfectly, and taking opportunities that make me nervous. Many times throughout the year, I’ve faced situations that made me feel uncomfortable; not only because I was taking chances. I was also in situations that challenged me to use my voice in a way I wasn’t used to.  Continue reading “Results Outweigh Discomfort”

Interview | Peace From Panic

I’m so excited to share an interview Jenny @peacefrompanic recently did with me via email. It was so much fun to connect with her. She had some really great questions and I enjoyed answering them. Be sure to leave some love on her blog. If you haven’t met her yet, she’s one of the first bloggers I connected with when I started blogging last year. She’s a kindred spirit that I’m grateful to have met. She blogs about mental health specifically how she helped her daughter manage panic attacks when she was growing up. She continues helping young people by speaking at schools about mental health awareness. Thank you for all that you do Jenny ❤ Continue reading “Interview | Peace From Panic”

Progress Over Perfection

Blog (1).png

I know the illusion of perfection is appealing. The thing is, perfection has a way of holding us back. It can make us feel like we can’t move forward until we’re “ready”. If we wait on being perfect, we’ll miss out on a lot of opportunities. Continue reading “Progress Over Perfection”

A New Way to Think About Yoga

This is a guest post written by Beth over at The Mama Bear Yogini. Thank you, Beth, for collaborating and sharing your first guest post with my community.

When you think of yoga what comes to mind? Probably really flexible people doing all sorts of handstands and other balancing poses. I know that’s what I thought when I first started thinking about yoga. “Well, I’ll get there. That’s what it’s all about right?” That’s what I told myself. “It’s all about learning to do awesome poses that I can upload to Instagram and show off to the world.” Continue reading “A New Way to Think About Yoga”

Quiet

It wasn’t until I contemplated what word to use for today’s A-Z Challenge post that I realized how much I appreciate quiet. By that I mean in my mind. For so long I had let the whirlwind of destructive thoughts spin through my mind that as I sit here and write, I realize how grateful I am to have peace of mind. Continue reading “Quiet”

13 Reasons Why

Have you seen the new show on Netflix 13 Reasons Why? It’s a must watch in my opinion. It’s about a teenage girl that leaves tapes behind explaining what led to her committing suicide. I think this is one of those shows that parents should watch with their teens. I’d even go as far to say this would be something I’d like to see watched and discussed in health class. Continue reading “13 Reasons Why”

Replace Your Fear With Courage

Today’s post comes from Lauren, a lawyer from Sydney who is currently taking a break from law. Thank you, Lauren, for sharing your story with us ❤

I was sitting at my desk in my little cupboard office on the morning I published my article Why your worst fears are nothing to be afraid of. How did I have the audacity to I speak about conquering fear when it was the catalyst to my emptiness? Fear was eating me from the inside out. I had no right to even suggest that someone should leave the job that paralyzes them when that’s exactly what I couldn’t do.
